A Little About Me
Hi my name is Nora and this is my blog! A little about me is that in high school I played lacrosse and ran cross country, but decided not to participate in sports here at Wentworth. I came to Wentworth to major in computer science, I am currently a sophomore, and i’m living on campus this semester. Some fun facts about me are that my favorite color is blue, my favorite animal is an elephant, and my favorite coffee shop is Dunkin. I am from Massachusetts so I love the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins, but sorry Celtics i'm not a basketball fan. Currently my favorite show on Netflix has been Criminal Minds. Mystery and drama tend to captivate me the most when choosing a new series to watch. Although I do also like romance and horror I don't choose to watch shows with that genre as often. Other shows that I've watched in the past and highly recommend are Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and Gilmore Girls. When choosing music to listen to I tend to sway towards the pop genre. Currently my favorite artist is Billie Eilish, but I also really enjoy Post Malone, and Khalid. All of their styles may be different, but their music still falls into the same genre for the most part. One way that I manage to switch up my playlists is to listen to the recommendations for me on Spotify. Listening to what's recommended is a good way to find new music and artists that I enjoy. There are many good movies I've seen, but my top two favorites are Moana and The Greatest Showman. Musicals normally are not my cup of tea and I tend to lean towards drama or mystery, but for some reason these are my favorite. I think the main reason why I enjoyed them so much was actually because of the genre they were. The soundtrack of these movies was so amazing that I could listen to them for hours on end. One other fact about me is that i'm so excited for this fall semester and hope that everyone else is too, even if they are taking all their classes remotely. I hope that by this point you got to know me a little better and I can't wait to read yours!
Hello Nora, loved the simplicity of your blog with how simple it was to find everything, especially flowing through your different interests. Where I with you there on mystery captivating when choosing a new series to watch but also tend to find myself having too many interested programs to watch/read and not know what to watch. But also loved the visual and story telling of Moana with how they accurately portrayed the culture by going out to learn the traditions.
ReplyDeleteHi Nora, I love your blog, its so aesthetically pleasing! I thought it was really cool that you mentioned MASS MOCA because it is actually in my home county, the Berkshires. Not many people know about it because of its location but its a hidden gem. I also wanted to comment on your tv show taste, I have a very similar one and all the shows you listed I LOVE. Have you watched Law SVU? I think you may like if not!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Nora! Cool to see that you tried out Padlet for your snap; I hope you liked it. I agree that the Spotify explore features are pretty awesome. I only recently started using Spotify (very late to the game!) but really enjoy all of the features they have to learn about new music that's related to what I already like. Of course, I can also relate to your love of Moana. That soundtrack is a fan favorite around here, as my 18 month old daughter literally claps after "How Far I'll Go" every time!
ReplyDeleteNora, once I saw that you ran cross country I got excited. I am a freshman this year and I am currently one of two girls on the team. Its not too late to join! I enjoy the personal photos you added to your blog to help give an inviting/personal feel. I started "Gilmore Girls" about a month ago and I am enjoying it, so I agree with your recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI found it cute that you love Dunkin. My sisters husband is also from the north and he is obsessed with Dunkin. they named their cat after the coffee shop and he even has a branded collar and toys. Best of luck with your studies this year and I can't wait to read what you post next.
Hey Nora! Awesome blog, I think it really gave us a quick glimpse into who you are as a person! We have very similar taste in television shows as well. I recently just finished Greys Anatomy for the first time and I don't think I have cried over a TV show more! Although, when I watched One Tree Hill that show also put me in my feels, but I've seen it like 10 times now. It's a shame they took it off Netflix. I look forward to getting to know you more throughout the semester. If you have anymore TV show recommendations send them my way.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up Nora! First, I just want to mention (like many others did) how awesome your blog looks! I genuinely said "wow" out loud and even questioned my own blog. I also noticed you played lacrosse back in high school and I thing it is one of the best sports ever created. I stopped lacrosse after high school for track and field but miss it every day. I do have a quick question about the Dunkin part of your blog. I personally don't think the Dunkin's in Boston are as good as the ones back home, wherever home may be. Is that just me or is that a common occurrence?
